Account & Getting Started
Do I need to download an app?
No. StuffFinder is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — it runs in your phone browser and can be added to your home screen in seconds. No App Store or Google Play required. Visit stufffinder.app/app to get started.
Is StuffFinder available on iPhone and Android?
Yes — it works on any modern phone browser (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android) as well as desktop. You can also find StuffFinder on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
How do I add StuffFinder to my home screen?
On iPhone: open stufffinder.app/app in Safari, tap the Share button, then tap "Add to Home Screen." On Android: open in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, then tap "Add to Home Screen" or "Install App."
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password?" and enter your email address. You'll receive a reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.
Can I use the same account on multiple devices?
Yes. Sign in with the same email and password on any device. Your inventory stays in sync.
Plans & Billing
What does the free plan include?
The free Starter plan includes 3 containers, 30 items, 1 location, photos, search, position labels, compact PDF labels, and barcode scanning. No time limit and no credit card required.
How do I upgrade to Home or Household?
Visit stufffinder.app/upgrade, sign in with your StuffFinder account, and choose a plan. Your upgrade takes effect immediately.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the app, tap Settings, then tap Profile. You'll find the option to cancel your subscription there. Your data is never deleted — your account simply reverts to the free Starter plan.
What happens to my data if I cancel or downgrade?
Your data is never deleted. Containers and items over the free-tier limit become read-only until you re-upgrade or remove the extras yourself.
Do you offer refunds?
If you're not happy, email us. We'll sort it out. We're a small team and we'd rather make things right than lose a customer.
Features
How do PDF labels work?
Inside the app, open any container and tap the print icon. Choose your label size (Compact, Standard, or Detail), then print to any home printer on plain paper. No special labels or hardware required. The Standard and Detail layouts list every item on the label so you can read the contents without opening the app.
What does the QR code on labels do?
Scanning the QR code with your phone camera opens that container directly in the StuffFinder app — no typing or searching required.
How does barcode scanning work?
When adding a new item, tap the barcode icon to scan the product's barcode. StuffFinder will look up the product name automatically so you don't have to type it.
What is Household sharing?
The Household plan lets up to 5 people share one inventory. The account owner invites others by email. Each member signs in with their own account and can add, edit, or search items.
Does StuffFinder work offline?
Your inventory is cached on your device so you can browse it without a signal. Adding or editing items requires a connection to sync.
